# Create your account

Sign up for FundHero, set up your team, and choose the team name that becomes part of your donation page address.

To create a FundHero account, open the sign-up page, fill in your details and a team name, then add your organization's information and choose a plan. Your team name becomes part of your donation page address and you can't change it yourself, so choose it carefully.

## Before you start

Decide on your team name. FundHero uses it in your donation page URL, for example `https://secure.fundhero.com/helpinghands`. Use only lowercase letters, numbers and dashes. It must be at least 3 characters.

## Sign up

1. Open the sign-up page at `https://app.fundhero.io/a/signup`.
2. Enter your **First Name**, **Last Name**, **Email** and **Password**. The password must be at least 8 characters.
3. Under "Create a unique teamname for your account and donation page", enter your team name. The example line underneath shows how the address will look.
4. Complete the reCAPTCHA check.
5. Select **Create Account**.

By creating an account you agree to FundHero's Terms & Conditions, which are linked under the button.

## Tell us about your organization

The next screen is titled "We just need a few details to customize your account." Fill in:

- **Organization Name**, for example "Doe for Congress".
- **Type**: **Non-Profit**, **Political Campaign** or **Other**.
- **Phone Number**. It needs at least 10 characters before **Next** becomes active.

The screen includes an SMS consent notice. Entering your phone number and selecting **Next** confirms that you have read it.

Select **Next**.

## Choose a plan

The last step is the **Choose your plan** screen. Pick Basic, Professional or Organization, then enter a card. Professional and Organization start with a 14-day free trial. See [Plans and free trial](https://www.fundhero.com/help/plans-and-free-trial/) for what each plan includes.

After you choose a plan, FundHero opens your dashboard.

## Join an existing team instead

If a teammate invited you, use the link in your invitation instead. It opens a **Join Team** form with the team name already filled in and greyed out. Enter your name, email and password, and select **Join Team**.

## Your team name

- The team name is shown in **Settings** > **Profile** as **Team Name**. The field is read-only.
- FundHero's own wording is: "Your team name is the slug used throughout the app and for donation pages. Please contact us if you need to change this." To change it, email mail@fundhero.io.

## Next steps

- Connect Stripe so you can accept donations. The banner "You aren't able to accept donations." with the link "Setup your donation page now." stays on screen until you do.
