Custom fields let you track extra information that FundHero doesn't have a field for. You create them in **Settings** > **Custom Fields**. This feature is in beta.

## Create a custom field

Only the team owner can add or remove custom fields. Other team members can see the list but not change it.

1. Select the gear menu in the top bar, then **Settings**.
2. Open the **Custom Fields** tab.
3. Enter a **Field Name**.
4. Choose a **Field Type**: text, number, email, date, tel, url, checkbox, radio, textarea or select.
5. Select **Add**. FundHero confirms with "Custom fields updated".

To delete a field, open the menu beside it and select **Remove Custom Field**. There is no rename option yet.

## Where the values appear

- **Contact form:** **Add Contact** and **Edit** show a **Custom Fields** section with an input for each field. The section shows text, number, email, tel and textarea fields. On the contact's detail page, any value you've filled in appears under the contact's details.
- **Donation page editor:** the **Custom Fields** section near the end of the editor has a checkbox for each field. Tick the ones you want to collect from donors on that page. If you haven't created any, the section says "No custom fields defined. You can add custom fields in your team settings."
- **Reports:** each custom field is added as a column, named after the field, to the built-in reports.

Values that donors enter on a donation page are stored with that donation. Values you type on a contact record are stored on the contact.
