# Edit a donation page

What each section of the donation page editor does, in the order it appears.

To edit a donation page, open **Donation Pages**, open the menu on the page's card and select **Edit**. Change the sections you want, then select **Save**.

You can also open the editor from a page's own screen with **Edit Page**.

## The editor buttons

Three buttons stay on screen while you edit:

- **Back** returns to the page's screen without saving.
- **Save** saves your changes.
- **View** opens the live page in a new tab.

## Sections, in order

Some sections only appear for certain templates.

1. **Banner Image.** The first picture donors see. On the Event template it is called **Event Banner Image**, and on the Image template it is **Main Image**. The Image template works best with a square picture, recommended at 1200x1200px. A delete button removes a picture you uploaded earlier.
2. **Show Team Logo** (Image template only). Shows your team logo at the top of the page. Set the logo in your team settings.
3. **Title.** Keep it short so donors can identify your cause. On the Event template it is called **Event Title**.
4. **Event Date & Time** and **Event Location** (Event template only). See [Event pages and tickets](https://www.fundhero.com/help/event-pages-and-tickets/).
5. **Story.** More detail about your cause. On the Event template this is **Description**, and on the Image template it is **Description**, optional text shown after the page title.
6. **Contribution Disclaimer.** Text for any legal disclaimer you want donors to see.
7. **Event tickets, Organizer Details, Point of Contact and Enable Additional Donations** (Event template only).
8. **Activity Tag.** A read-only tag applied to every donation received through this page, so you can see how each page or campaign performs. You can override it for a single link with `?tag=`; see [Share your donation page](https://www.fundhero.com/help/share-your-donation-page/).
9. **Donation Amounts** (not on the Event template). The preset amount buttons, labeled **Button 1**, **Button 2** and so on. The defaults are $35, $75, $100 and $250.
10. **Set Max Donation Amount.** By default there is no maximum. If a donor enters more than your maximum, they see "The maximum donation for this cause has been set to $AMOUNT." and can enter a new amount. If adding the fee-coverage amount would push a donation over the maximum, the cover-fees option is hidden for that donation.
11. **Color Accent.** Enter a hex color (without the `#`) to color the page's buttons.
12. **Recurring Donations** (not on the Event template). See [Recurring donations](https://www.fundhero.com/help/recurring-donations/).
13. **Employer & Occupation Information.** Turn on **Collect Employer Information** if campaign finance law requires it for your organization. When it is on, donors must fill in Employer and Occupation before they can give. Check your local requirements; compliance is your responsibility.
14. **Disable Fee Coverage.** See [Processing fee coverage](https://www.fundhero.com/help/processing-fee-coverage/).
15. **Thank You Page**, **Receipt Email** and **Notifications.** See [Receipts and the thank-you page](https://www.fundhero.com/help/receipts-and-thank-you-page/).
16. **SEO Settings.** **SEO Title** and **SEO Description** for search engines. If you leave them blank they default to the page title and description.
17. **Custom Fields.** Tick which of your team's custom fields to collect from donors on this page. If you have none, the editor says "No custom fields defined. You can add custom fields in your team settings." Custom fields are in beta.

A **Custom CSS** section also exists, but it is only switched on for two specific teams, so you won't normally see it.

## Plan limits

Basic teams can't turn on recurring donations, and can only use the Focus template. See [Create a donation page](https://www.fundhero.com/help/create-a-donation-page/).
