An action is a record of an outreach you made to a contact, such as a call or a meeting. Log one with **Add Interaction** > **Add Action** and choose its type and result.

## Log an action

1. Open **Contacts** and select the contact.
2. Select **Add Interaction**, then **Add Action**.
3. Choose a **Type**:
   - Call
   - Email
   - Meet
   - Mail
   - Text
   - Other
4. Choose a **Result**:
   - Complete
   - Left Message
   - Needs Followup
   - Call Back
   - Bad Info
   - Other
5. Check the **Date**. It starts as today.
6. Add details in **Notes**. If your team has tags, you can also pick them in **Search Tags**.
7. Select **Save**.

The action appears on the timeline, for example "logged a call", "attended a meeting" or "sent a text", with the result shown as "Outcome". Use the **Actions** tab to see only actions. Select the three-dot menu on a card to **Edit** or **Delete** it.

## Results and follow-ups

The results **Needs Followup**, **Call Back** and **Left Message** feed the **Potential Follow Ups** list, which shows contacts you tried to reach and who haven't given since. See [Built-in smart lists](https://www.fundhero.com/help/built-in-smart-lists/#potential-follow-ups).

You can also find contacts by action with **Filters** > **Actions**. See [Search and filter contacts](https://www.fundhero.com/help/search-and-filter-contacts/).
