Type in **Search Contacts** to find people by name, email, phone or city, and use **Filters** to narrow the list by donor status, giving, activity, groups, tags and more.

## Search

**Search Contacts** sits above the contacts list. FundHero matches what you type against a contact's first name, last name, organization, email, alt. email, mobile, home and work phone numbers, and city. Matching is not case sensitive and finds text anywhere in those fields.

If you type several words, a contact must match every word. For example, "rivera denver" finds a contact named Rivera who lives in Denver.

Search works on the contacts list only. The main navigation bar has no search box.

## Filters

Select **Filters** (the funnel icon) to open the panel. A number on the button shows how many conditions are applied. Each section narrows the list further:

- **Donor Status**: tick one or more of Prospect, Attempted Contact, Cultivation, Ready for Ask, Soft Pledge, Hard Pledge, Donor, Decline or None.
- **Ask Amount**: drag the slider to a range.
- **Donations**: a range for **Total Donations** or **Single Donations**, a **Type** of One Time or Recurring, and a date.
- **Pledges**: the same options, for pledges.
- **Actions**: **Select Type** and **Select Outcome** from the action lists, plus a date.
- **Groups**: **Search Groups**.
- **Tags**: **Search Tags**, to find contacts with donations or activity carrying those tags.
- **Tasks**: **Assigned User**, a **Status** (Overdue, Not Due, Complete, Incomplete) and a date.
- **Location**: **City**, **State** and **Postal**.
- **Contact Details**: **Type** (Individual, Organization, None) and **Has Phone Number** or **Has Email**.

The date options on Donations, Pledges, Actions and Tasks work the same way as in the [smart group builder](https://www.fundhero.com/help/build-a-smart-group/).

Select **Clear All** to reset every section. The button at the bottom reads **Show N Contacts**, where N is how many contacts match. Select it to apply the filters to the list.

To keep a set of conditions that updates itself, build a [smart group](https://www.fundhero.com/help/build-a-smart-group/).

## Select many contacts

- Tick the checkbox on a row to select it. A bar of bulk actions appears: **Add/Remove Groups**, **Donor Status** and **More Actions**. **Clear** deselects everything.
- Tick the header checkbox to select the contacts loaded on the page. If more contacts match, a link appears: "Select all N contacts that match". Select it to apply a bulk action to every match, not only the loaded rows.

The label above the list shows how many contacts you are viewing out of your total.

## Flagged contacts

Select the flag icon on a row to flag a contact. Select the flag icon in the header to flag every contact in the current view, or to unflag them all if they are already flagged. Open the Contacts dropdown and choose **Flagged Contacts** to see only flagged people.

## Rearrange columns

Select the columns icon at the right of the list heading to open **Rearrange Columns**. Drag a column's handle to move it, use the eye icon to show or hide it, then select **Confirm**. You can also drag the edge of a column header to resize it. FundHero remembers your layout for your user.

The available columns are Donor Status, Ask Amount, Type, Title, Email, Mobile, Note, Address, City, State, Zip and Last Activity Date. Name is always shown first.
