ActBlue integration

How ActBlue donations get logged in FundHero, and how to ask for the credentials to set it up.

Updated Organization plan

FundHero can log donations made through ActBlue as contributions on your contacts, using an ActBlue webhook. There is no ActBlue setting in the dashboard, so you ask FundHero support to set it up for your team.

ActBlue integration was documented as an Organization plan feature. Confirm your plan with support when you ask.

How it works

ActBlue sends a notice to FundHero whenever a donation comes in through your ActBlue page. FundHero then:

  • Finds the contact with the same email, first name and last name and adds the donation to them. If there’s no match, it creates a new contact.
  • Logs the donation with the note "ActBlue", so you can tell it apart from donations made on your FundHero pages.
  • Marks the donation as needing a thank-you.

ActBlue donations are recorded for your tracking only. ActBlue processes the payment, so these donations show no fee or transfer amounts in FundHero.

Set it up

  1. Email mail@fundhero.io and ask for ActBlue integration endpoint credentials. FundHero support sets up the connection for your team and sends you the credentials.
  2. Log in to your ActBlue account.
  3. Go to Tools on the left side of your ActBlue dashboard, then Integrations.
  4. Find Webhooks and click Manage.
  5. Select Request a New Webhook.
  6. Choose ActBlue Default from the dropdown.
  7. Enter your details and the endpoint credentials from FundHero. The username and password in the credentials are not your FundHero login, so don’t use your FundHero username and password.
  8. Select Submit Request.

ActBlue can take a few days to approve the request. You can follow its status in ActBlue’s webhook dashboard.

The menu names above are ActBlue’s and may change. If you can’t find them, check ActBlue’s help.
