Contact activities overview

Log emails, notes, actions, tasks, pledges and donations on a contact and read them back in the timeline.

Updated

Every contact has a timeline of the interactions you have with them. You add to it from the Add Interaction menu on the contact’s detail page. Notes and tasks aren’t available on the Basic plan.

Add an interaction

  1. Open Contacts and select a contact.
  2. Select Add Interaction. Six buttons appear:
  3. Fill in the form and select Save, or Cancel to close it. The close icon in the corner also dismisses the form.

On the Basic plan, Add Note and Add Task show a lock, and selecting one opens an upgrade pop-up.

Read the timeline

Below the form, the timeline lists everything logged for the contact, newest first. Each card says who did what, for example "added a donation", "logged a call", "sent an email" or "added a note", with the date.

Tabs filter the timeline: All Activity, Emails, Notes, Actions, Tasks and Donations.

Two kinds of items are pinned above the tabs until you deal with them:

  • Open tasks, soonest due date first. Select Mark as completed when the work is done, and the task moves into the timeline.
  • Pledges that haven’t been fulfilled. Select Mark as fulfilled to turn a pledge into a donation.

Thank donors

Donations show Say thanks until you mark them. Selecting it changes the label to Thanked and removes the contact from the Contacts Need Thanks list. Select Thanked again to switch it back. Marking a donation as thanked doesn’t send anything to the donor. It’s your own record that you’ve done it. Donations from your donation pages, ones you add by hand and ones you import all start as needing thanks.

Edit or delete an item

Each card has a menu (three dots) with Edit and Delete. Edit turns the card into a form with the same fields as the original. Select Save to keep your changes, or open the menu on the form and choose Cancel, or Remove to delete it.

If you delete a donation whose note says "Online", FundHero warns you first that it may have come from your donation page.

Tags

When your team has at least one tag, the form shows a Search Tags box so you can tag the item. Tags are for finding and reporting on donations and activity. See Tags.
