Why is FundHero on my card statement?

How to recognize a donation on your bank or card statement and who to contact about it.

Updated

FundHero is the platform that organizations use to take donations online, so a charge from a gift you made on a FundHero page is for the organization you gave to. The charge description is set from the organization’s name.

What you’ll see

When you give through a FundHero page, the description on your statement is based on the organization’s name, shortened to fit the 21-character limit for card statements, with apostrophes removed. Your bank may add its own prefix or show the charge differently.

How to confirm a charge

  • Check your receipt. Every donation sends an email receipt with the organization’s name, the date, the donation amount and the card used, shown as the card brand and last four digits. Search your inbox for "donation receipt" or the organization’s name.
  • Compare the date and amount. If you chose to cover processing fees, your charge is slightly higher than the gift amount, and the receipt lists it as "Fees Paid by Donor".
  • Check monthly gifts. If you gave monthly, the charge repeats each month. The monthly receipt links to a page where you can cancel your monthly donation.

If you don’t recognize it

  1. Look for the receipt email, because the footer says which organization the email was paid for by, and gives a contact address.
  2. If you can’t find a receipt, email mail@fundhero.io with the date, the amount and the last four digits of your card. Don’t include the full card number.
  3. Contact your bank or card issuer if you believe the charge is fraudulent.
